🌸Product Care🌸

How to care and maintain your Leather earrings

1. Cleaning
Usually Faux leather is stain-resistant and can be easily cleaned with a wipe from a non-abrasive cloth which is soaked in lukewarm water. However, if the stain is more persistent, then I recommend using water and some washing liquid to remove the stain. As you clean your leather earrings, make sure you softly clean your earrings slowly and gently so that you don't damage them. After you have cleaned them, let your earrings air dry for about 24 to 48 hours (depending where you live).

2. Storing
Store your leather earrings in a cool and dry place away from direct sunlight, especially if you live in a humid climate like Queensland. By doing this, it keeps moisture and mould developing on your earrings.

3. Keep them away from oils and perfumes
To keep your leather earrings great as when you first purchased them, avoid exposure to face oils and perfumes. These can cause the leather to deteriorate and damage them.

4. Don't wear them in the shower/swimming!
As you know our leather earrings are light and you may forget to take them off before a shower - I have done this! Make sure that you avoid wearing them in the shower or swimming even as the moisture can cause them to warp and discolour.

4. Don't expose them to extreme temperatures
Leather is sensitive, so avoid exposing your earrings to extreme temperatures. This includes both hot and cold temperatures, which can damage them.

5. Taking them off
Be careful when you put and take off your earrings, be gentle to avoid damaging the earrings. Pulling or yanking on them can cause them to tear or break.

6. Repairs
If your leather earrings are damaged, it is important to repair them as soon as you can. Depending on the damage, send us a messge or email and we will try our best to help you!

7. Hanging or flat laying your earrings
Store your earrings by hanging or laying them flat on a flat surface and away from makeup and hair products. You should always put your earrings on last after your hair and makeup, so that no makeup and hair products get onto your earrings.

8. Bending or Curling?
If your earrings are getting bent or starting to curl, try to cover them with a towel and flatten them with an iron on the LOWEST warm setting. Be careful to avoid the earring hook and jump ring. You can also try putting them under a heavy book or under a heavy object until the leather relaxes and reverts back to its original shape.

How to care and maintain your Acrylic earrings

1. You need to look after your acrylic earrings by making sure that you keep and store them in a dry area. Please don't shower, bath or swim with your acrylic earrings as it can discolour and stain them.

2. To keep your earrings shining and the best condition as when you first purchased them, use a microfibre cloth (like the cloth you get when you get sunglasses/glasses) to give them the occasional polish. Please refrain from using a towel or tissues as it can scratch them leaving the surface rough.

3. If you find spots or fingerprint marks, you can wipe them (gently!) with a cotton bud or ball and some isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol to clean them off. Remember, gently use the rubbing alcohol so that you don't over do it but to not damage them.

4. Like any piece of jewellery, please store them in a cool and moisture free space. Please don't store your earrings near hot surfaces or areas as it can warp them. Store your pieces in a cool and ideally a dark place which can extend andf prolong their life.

5. The acrylic material is durable but it can retain some smells and can discolour if you don't look after them properly. Please keep your earrings away from getting into contact with liquids such as body lotion, hairspray, perfume, sunscreen and soap.

6. As with any piece of jewellery, please put on your acrylic earrings on last after you have finished your hair and makeup.

7. When driving please be careful and avoid getting your earrings stuck or getting caught in your seatbelt or seat as it will damage them.

8. Even though acrylic is durable, it can scratch so please keep them away from sharp objects.

9. We don't recommend sleeping with your earrings in as it will cause you discomfort when sleeping but it can damage the hook and jump ring and warp them making it difficult to take off or put back on. You need a goodnight's rest without getting stabbed in the ear!

10. If you are moving, travelling or sending one of our pieces to your loved ones, please make sure that you pack it nice and snug with some bubble wrap and a small box to ensure that they arrive safe and sound at their destination.
